Maxx Crosby on the Davante Adams Drama: “You Think I’m Not Used to This Sh–?”

The Raiders were hoping to make a statement this week with Davante Adams out of the lineup, but it didn’t happen that way and now they’ll brace for a week of headlines around their soon-to-be-traded star wide receiver.

Maxx Crosby took a question on Adams immediately after Sunday’s loss and his mood was in line with what the fan base has been feeling for a couple of decades.

“It is what it is. You think I’m not used to this sh– going on?” Crosby said.

“It is what it is. I’ve been dealing with it my whole career, so it is what it is. Davante is my boy. I love Davante and he’s going to do what he’s going to do. Praying for him, wish him the best. He’s not healthy right now. He’s got to get healthy, but we’re focused on the Raiders. We’re focused on who’s here now.”

The questions around Adams are just getting started as the Raiders look ahead now to games against the Steelers, Rams, Chiefs and Bengals before they head into their week 10 bye.

It’s only the first week of October, but it feels like the Raiders have already been through enough adversity for a full season.

Head coach Antonio Pierce was noncommittal on next week’s starting quarterback and that will be second biggest storyline around the team in the days ahead.

Sunday was unfortunate for Gardner Minshew because he started the game playing better than he has played all year. But after completing his first nine passes, including a 57-yard touchdown strike to Brock Bowers, Minshew threw a 100-yard pick-six in the second quarter and the Raiders were never able to rebound.

For Crosby and the fan base, this year is starting to feel too much like every other year in recent memory. It’s a new season, but the storyline never seems to get far away from the same familiar script.

  1. Everyone true raiders fan knows our owner is the problem here, has been even with his idiot father..The best and only thing for Mark to do is sell this team immediately..He obviously has zero self respect to know he has no clue on making the correct hires,he doesn’t and hasn’t proved this since he owned the team..The broncos are horrible, this could have easily been a different game of not for the interception.. Changed everything, momentum is huge in team sports.
Keep AOC as the starter and see how this season plays out,he again has to learn a new offense because of the continuous changes the raiders have every year..Zero stability.
Minschew is a career back up QB, period.
Also get rid of AP by mid year and put Marvin Lewis as HC for this season and next.

  2. Maxx is used to inconsistent qb play , he has never had a consistently good one. Until he does, it will be the same old frustrating story for him and the RaaDuhs. Devante knows this, why he wants out. Knows both of these guys are basically back up level qb’s. This is not rocket science, have to have good ,consistent qb play to be good. If you don’t, then you are what the RaaDuhs are and have been…mediocre to bad for decades … except for a year or two in there. When DC had a good year … again it’s not rocket science. If the RaaDuhs want to go anywhere this year they need to make a deal for a better veteran qb and keep devante. If not trade devante and white to saints for Kamara and Rattler. Let Rattler start the rest of the year and see what he’s got.

  3. Maxx, I’m with you troop, phuck the media, rumors, and all other negative spirits going on, I truly believe you bleed silver & black Robert Spillane, Nate Hobbs, Jack Jones, Aidan O’Connell, Marcus Epps, and who can forget my throwback Raider, crazyazzJackson Powers-Johnson and they’re others.

You guys keep fighting the good fight, Victory favors the Brave
