Maxx Crosby Says He Was “Literally Bedridden” Before Playing Against the Chiefs

Maxx Crosby was supposed to miss Sunday’s game against the Chiefs with a knee injury, but against all odds he managed to shed his ‘doubtful’ status for the game and play.

It seemed like a big deal that Crosby played before we knew the details of his knee injury, but on Tuesday morning he shared what really happened with his knee, and the fact that he played is even more impressive.

“This week was f—ed. My knee had some fluid build up. The sh– was blown up like a balloon and I wake up the next morning and I f—ing almost pass out. I felt like I was dying. I will literally bed ridden. I could not move. I get a call that night and they’re like ‘Okay, we need to go to the hospital. We found there’s bacteria in your fluid.’ So it can be f—ing dangerous.

I had to go through all these requirements. I had to do this, this, this. I had to go out and f—ing show them that I can f—ing do anything. I’m f—ing doing everything I can, like, I want to f—ing play.”

According to Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter, Crosby was at about “60 percent” health on Sunday, but he still managed to record a sack.

His 49 defensive snaps against the Chiefs was his lowest snap total of the season, but still a lot considering the status of his knee.

We don’t know when the injury to Crosby’s knee occurred, but there’s a good chance it happened on a questionable block by Teven Jenkins of the Bears in week 7…

The Football Scout on Twitter: “The NFL needs to Protect it’s players, in the trenches, the way they do their QBs and WRs. This block by Teven Jenkins is brutal and could result in a very bad injury to Maxx Crosby. pic.twitter.com/EvtUqgkRX1 / Twitter”

Based on a report during the CBS broadcast on Sunday, it sounds like Crosby will have a medical procedure on his knee at the end of the season.

It will be interesting to see how the knee holds up through the end of the season, and the bye week couldn’t have come at a better time for Mad Maxx… unless, of course, it could have come just one week earlier.

  1. Hopefully they shut him down for the remainder of this lost season. Why risk more injury? Makes no sense to continue to play him. DPY isn’t the objective.

  2. Crosby is a tough guy. I gota give him top props. Man he just won’t give up. I love his style of ball playing. I wish other team mates would get in there and kick butt too. Defence is holding ground. Keep up the good work guys.

  3. That block should have been flagged. Had the offensive player performed a “block” like
that continuously, he would injure the defensive player frequently. That block is intended
to be above the knee. He is like a pulling guard going below the knee. You won’t see that
any longer. So, yes what happened to Max Crosby should have been flagged as an illegal
    block.

  4. This is done on purpose they want to take him out, I just saw this video and Damm if anyone watches the video and says they always do this they don’t they don’t get off the line and leave ur spot unprotected why would he go straight to Crosby?

  5. Madd Maxx, is a awesome young man and baller, he is the heart and soul of our RAIDERS he gives his all every play, double and triple teamed, held and clipped … But no calls to say unfair calls is an understatement would be 😢 sad truth. If his knee will cause him further problems and make unable to play next season Maxx should rest now. On the other hand our coaches AP, who l like should say something or our owner… Because Madd Maxx won’t be is Old School RAIDER…” Raiders Juice “
