Maxx Crosby Talked About the Challenges of Losing, Says Some “Trying to Divide Us As a Team”

Maxx Crosby isn’t happy about the Raiders’ 2-7 record, but he isn’t changing the approach that has made him one of the best defensive players in the NFL.

Speaking on his podcast this week, Crosby said he is ready for the challenges of the second half of the season.

“I’m looking forward to this final eight, you know what I mean? Our record is our record. That’s irrelevant at this point,” Crosby said on The Rush podcast this week.

“We’re focused on now. And, you know, I feel like there’s just so much negativity and so much disrespect out there and everyone’s trying to divide us as a team and as a whole,” Crosby continued. “I’m just looking forward to going out there and putting our best foot forward and try to string together some wins and, you know, taking it one day at a time.”

While there are talking heads around the league that do want to divide the Raiders, it’s fair to say at this point that the Raiders have, in some ways, divided themselves this season.

Or maybe the more accurate mathematical term would be “subtracted” from themselves.

With the firing of offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and two other offensive assistants, the Raiders are hoping that coaching was at least part of the problem with an offense that ranked 25th in the NFL in points per game (18.7 PPG) through the first 10 weeks of the season.

Crosby said that as one of the leaders of the locker room, getting off to a slow start is especially challenging.

“I did not expect us to be in this situation,” he said. “That’s a tough place to be. You know what I mean? It’s a tough place to be with all the work I put in and everything I put into this. And not just as on a personal level, but like being a leader and keeping guys in the boat, especially when times are really hard, like people look for me for answers. You know what I mean?”

“That’s another challenge, because when it gets hard, you really figure out who the people are. You know what I mean? And for me, I pride myself on thriving in adversity.”

  1. I know there are some dedicated players and coaches on this team, but if everyone took the attitude that Mad Maxx has, we could dominate as we did in the 70’s and 80′. Maxx bleeds silver and black

  2. Thats why. 98 is my favorite player. When. My GOAT. Howie Long retired. Max Crosby. Got my favorite. Today. 98. Continue to be. The ANCHOR. OF THE RAIDERS SHIP. I GOT YOUR BACK. CMON. RAIDERS. WE GOT THIS
