Maxx Crosby to the ‘Mahomes Rules’ Critics: “People are Sensitive These Days”

Antonio Pierce has taken some criticism for his comments on the “Mahomes Rules” the Raiders have incorporated against their AFC West rival Chiefs, but the league doesn’t seem concerned and neither does Maxx Crosby.

“People are sensitive these days, so they take things out of context,” Crosby told Vegas Sports Today this week.

“But yeah, he’s got multiple MVPs and Super Bowls. If we want to win, we gotta take him down. That goes for everybody. He knows I’m coming for him. I’m on that energy every day. It’s not malicious… We play the game the right way, but we play with ill intent, and we play violent.”

One of Pierce’s biggest critics last week was podcast host Michael Lombardi, who has since argued that his comments were taken out of context.

Lombardi said he was going to “fight back” against Dov Kleiman, whom he says misrepresented his statements by using quotes from two different podcasts.

As for the social media personality that Lombardi said he is going to fight back against, his first challenge will be to figure out if Kleiman is, in fact, a real person.

Awful Announcing on Twitter: “Mike Lombardi says he’s going to “fight back” against Dov Kleiman after his comments on Antonio Pierce and the Raiders went viral.”Who is he anyway? Is he just some strange cat somewhere in a basement in Israel?” pic.twitter.com/Ui7EJhpGax / Twitter”

The other ridiculous opinion on the “Mahomes Rules” came last week from ESPN’s Mike Greenberg, who says referees should respond by throwing more flags against the Raiders.

This was Greeny’s full statement in all of its fake hysteria…

“I’m going to tell you right now; I don’t like it. I don’t like hearing it and if I’m the league, I’m doing something about it, and I’ll tell you why. Protecting the quarterbacks is the most important thing the NFL can do. Patrick Mahomes is the most important player in football. He’s as important a player that football has had in a long time. He is right there with [Tom] Brady and Peyton Manning and Brett Favre as a draw. There is no bigger draw right now in the sport than Patrick Mahomes. Maybe Taylor Swift is the only bigger draw than Mahomes is

You cannot have coaches preaching hurting him, and I understand that he’s not going to go so far as to say ‘hurt him,’ but I’m telling you right now if I’m Roger Goodell, I’m calling Antonio Pierce. I don’t mean to be a ‘Fuddy Duddy’ on this, but I’m going to say ‘Listen, I’m going to instruct my officials to be keeping a close eye on Patrick in your games because of what you said, and if I see anything I don’t like, we’re throwing flags on every freaking play. You want 15 yards on every play? I’ll give you 15 yards on every play. You’re going to knock out our money maker, mine and yours. I’m not interested in it.”

  1. Mr. “Neurotic, Narcissistic” Greenberger can do what he does best-whine about the Jets. Who in their right mind would give Lombardi the time of day, much less giving him any credence. As to the both of them, I refer to the Rock’s proclamation, “Know your role and shut your mouth.”

  2. Greenberg eloquently established himself as a legit ” fuddy duddy” and self righteous , pompous ***. He’s a documented ” Raider Hater” who’s sports journalism has been tilted toward the Midwest of the NFL , thus lacking objectivity and credibility!
