The Raiders didn’t play great on Sunday, but they played well enough to beat the Jaguars and how fitting was it that the Raiders time in Oakland ended on another incompetent piece of officiating?
The game-changing call came with 2:05 remaining in the game and the Jaguars down to their final timeout. Had Derek Carr been ruled down inbounds (he was clearing giving himself up with a leg-first slide), Jacksonville would have been left with only one timeout and 2 minutes to play. Assuming each of the Raiders plays would taken about five seconds to run, the Jaguars should have gotten the ball back with no more than 25 seconds left on the clock (probably less) and no timeouts.
Instead, Carr was ruled to have run out of bounds and the rest was Coliseum history.
For those wondering what the NFL rule is on a ball carrier giving himself up, this is how the NFL explains when and where the ball is considered dead:
“When a runner slides feet-first, the ball is dead the instant he touches the ground with anything other than his hands or his feet.”
Take a look for yourself…
Out of bounds or not?
Nothing between Carr and the sideline official but cool Alameda air.

He thought he won the game with great clock management and popped up all stoked and throw up the “O” He would have never done that if he thought he slide out and stopped the clock. I would have been a ugly Win but the fans would have left happy and we would have got another W.
Yes officials have been rank all season,But what’s worse is the Raiders defense, especially their coverage people..Sad ending to The Raiders legacy..
I was watching the game on the red zone and they didn’t even show this play or how it affected the game.
unless there’s some newly written rule about stopping the clock when you slide I don’t know what the hell that was
It’s another horrible call and a shame. This actually could have been a game altering call, since the Raiders lost 5 yards and failed to get to the 2 minute warning, which would have allowed a better chance to make a first down and end the game right there. Combine that with the fact that both the Titans and Steelers lost yesterday and they may still have had an outside chance at a wild card spot if they win the next two games. But the sadder reality is that the Raiders simply lost the game with another anemic second half offensive effort.
But there’s always next year, right? At least they have a lot of young talent and two first rounders in 2020. Let’s hope they make the best of it.
Too Pissed with the previous 3 screw ups earlier, jets, ,chiefs, titans! No D!! Gunther gota go , ****! Score 21 pts against the 5 game losing streak Jaguars and you win! Im old school raider fan, we took what we wanted! Pantsy *** crybaby Gruden and enuff of the excuses already!! Need Big changes and Soon!! Enuff of this Mediocraty! Just Hope Baby!!! Seriously!!!!
The refs also screwed Curtis Riley on the blitz in third quarter on 3rd down and the Jags ended up with a first down.
Too many Excuses!!!!!!!!!!!! New OC and DC!!!
Typical useless results from a league that fixes the game for betting results. How ironic that the Raiders are going to Vegas.
Screwed again!!! Fan for forty years!! Lamonica to Warren Wells… Good. Stabler to Cliff Branch… Good. Now we’re the Oakland Orphan’s… Just buried a Raider Buddy. Favorite chant….. Let’s Go Raiders!!!
Proof again bias against the raiders and another fix in the nfl pretty sure NFL games are fixed.
The NFL will say we are sorry and nothing will happen. The NFL needs to solve these problems with because the game is losing its integrity.
Until The NFL officials are find for making bad calls it will always be fixed. It boggles my mind that they can’t put more officials on the field and use the technology to make the correct call right away that’s why I believe NFL is fixed and why I do not watch it like I used to watch it. especially after the snowball Tuck Rule really it always seems to happen with the Raiders and they always find a way to make a bad call against the raiders. I thought it was all about Al Davis and if they were going to stop doing the stuff they do against the Raiders but I was wrong clearly I was wrong.
The NFL is becoming very one sided and as a fan you see it playing out just as the WWE does! It’s horrible that such an historic game that Americans have loved for years is wrapped up in B.S. calls week after week that the so called league officials are supposed to step in and correct. Of course mistakes have happened in the history of the sport but come on this has gotten out of hand. Saints got screwed again last week very similar to the NFC championship game last year. It’s starting to feel as whoever the big shots have their money’s on week after week will be the teams who prevail. Mistakes happen but negligence shouldn’t have any play in the outcome of any game or in any sport period.

Bad call. Inside playing field with ball in hands is wrong.
It’s the NFL vs The Raiders like always. **** they’re still mad with Al Davis!!! RAIDER NATION for life

It must be fixed, the Ref. was staring right at Carr when he slid. People with big money calling the shots on to many things in this country these days, it’s time somebody put a stop to it!!!
My brother recommended I would possibly like this website. He was once entirely right. This put up actually made my day. You can not believe simply how much time I had spent for this information! Thanks!
