Raiders Hosted the NFL’s Nicest Fan Base in Week 6

Raiders Hosted the NFL’s Nicest Fan Base in Week 6

Allegiant Stadium is arguably the top tourist destination city in all of football, and the Raiders have become no strangers to opposing fans taking over their stadium on Sunday afternoons.

In week 6, Allegiant Stadium played host to the Buffalo Bills, who have one of the best travelling fan bases in the NFL, and well over half the stadium was dressed in blue and red.

But unlike a few other fan bases, the Bills left Las Vegas this weekend having represented their team well.

Raider Nation Radio host ‘JT the Brick’ talked about his experience with Bills fans this week and said they were some of the best he has been around.

Bills fans at Allegiant Stadium

“There were a lot of Buffalo fans there,” JT said on his flagship radio show on Tuesday.

“My buddy… who runs Raider Image, who’s great, he’s one of the longest tenured Raiders employees I know, said that the Buffalo Bills fans were arguably the nicest fans he ever met, overall, pound for pound. They loved our stadium. Forget about the result of the game. They were the better team. They won. I predicted them to win the Super Bowl. They’re a hell of a team. They beat us barely. But their fans were great. They couldn’t wait to get inside our building, tailgate, spend money on dinners and hotels, good fan base.”

Bills still haven’t won a Super Bowl

Unlike when the Chiefs are Broncos, Bills fans don’t have a lot to stand on when it comes to organizational success.

There have been great Bills teams over the decades, but they have never won a Super Bowl. They have been to four Super Bowls in a row but never won one.

JT said he had to remind a few friendly travelers of that fact over the course of the week.

“Whenever Buffalo fans want to chirp, they don’t have a lot to chirp with. They’ve never won. It’s very hard to be a team that has never won in any sport,” JT continued.

“The Tampa Bay Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers have advanced to the World Series. They both have never won a World Series. That’s hard to do. That’s really hard to do to not win one. Buffalo is on that list. But overall, I think the Buffalo fans are really nice. They spend all their money on beer. You know, some of them are going to our five-star, four-star restaurants, but they’re eating wings and pizza, and they’re just buying beer, and they were behaved. They were there, and they were loud, and I tip my cap to the Buffalo fans. Thanks for coming to Vegas. Wish we would have beat you.”

Bills’ players weren’t quite as amicable on Sunday

Bills DB spits on player

The Bills can be proud of their fan base, but the team itself wasn’t on its best behavior against the Raiders this week.

Buffalo defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson was ejected from Sunday’s game for spitting in the direction of Tyler Linderbaum and Brock Bowers.

Gardner-Johnson was flagged for the incident, ejected from the game and ultimately suspended for another game.

On Wednesday, the league suspended another Bills’ defensive back for spitting, and that means the Bills Mafia will be without two defensive backs when they host the Baltimore Ravens on November 1 in Buffalo.
