Unless the Raiders start winning games, the trade rumors around Davante Adams won’t be going away anytime soon.
Last year at this time, the Raiders were falling apart under Josh McDaniels and the thinking was that the trade return on Adams might give the Raiders an opportunity to move up in the draft and take one of the top quarterbacks on the board.
That didn’t happen, but the Raiders could find themselves in a similar position this year.
Adams will turn 32 in December, and many believe he would welcome a trade to a team like the Jets.
Adams addressed the trade talk around him this week on the Up and Adams Show, and he was clear again that he isn’t trying to force his way out of Las Vegas.
“It’s funny that I have to say it every week for people,” Adams said. “Sometimes you just get to a point where you are secure enough in how you feel and who you are to where you just stop really worrying about what everybody is thinking all the time… At no point have I been voicing ‘I want to do this, or I want to do that.’ I’ve said millions of times if I want to do anything, I’d be gone by now.”
Unfortunately for Adams, if he does want to stay with the Raiders, it might make the most sense for the team to see what they can get for him.
When asked this week if trade rumors around Adams could become a reality in the weeks ahead, The Athletic’s Vic Tafur didn’t hesitate.
“I think it has to be,” Tafur said on the Just Win podcast.
“If they have a losing record at the deadline, or close to it, I don’t see why you wouldn’t move him. I don’t think you’re going to bring him back at the price you’d want if you have a losing record. If you’re in the playoff chase, then maybe you think about it, but if your closer to being in the rebuilding phase than you are to being a contender, I don’t know why you would not trade him.”

Trade him ASAP
Get rid of him less trouble make room for other receivers. Send him to another team then he can be prepared and more productive. But he’s definitely not a Raiders material.
I am going to say it right now. Rogers to LV.
Love Adams but he needs to go to the jets a contender. It breaks my heart having to let him go but 32 and we are not contenders. Hope he does well with the Jets. This will push them over the top. Watching him rip apart the Chiefs defense in the upcoming AFC championship should bring tears of joy to Raider Nation. We just nailed you REED! Now let me add that we will get a boatload of picks for him and we will not have his huge salary. All good for both parties. I still want to get a few more players in here. White, Reddick, and maybe a qb Hendon hooker or Dorian Robinson Thompson.
I love Adams, but he should probably go to a contending team and get the draft picks. Heβs not going anywhere With Las Vegas, he says heβs happy but deep down heβs not happy.
Can Mark Davis trade himself?
Josh McDaniels was run out of Denver and MD got to see that train wreck twice a year. Josh accepts the Colts job and then changes his mind leaving them scrambling. That’s sketchy… Hmmmm did you not interview this guy? What impressed you, Boston Scrod?
He signs Davante Adams to be reunited with his college QB and best friend to then collude with his new coach to sabotage Carr’s leadership and scapegoat him out of town leaving Davante an orphan.
Next season he runs that coach out and hires the guy that has a cool Raaaaiiiiiiddderrs cheer and a cherry low rider….?
Three out of the four division teams are total garbage so why not go dumpster diving for your new GM. The guy who hired the defensive coach from the offensively prolific Rams? Every offensive assistant from the Rams hired as head coach elsewhere has succeeded but this guy hires the young new defensive coordinator who comes in to not stop anyone and go for it on 4th downs deep in his own territory.
You can’t blow this team up without MD included in the explosion….Just Sell Baby!
