Considering how thin the Raiders are at cornerback, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they are being linked to any of the top cornerbacks on the market.
According to NBC Sports Boston’s Mike Giardi, the Raiders have “expressed interest” in Patriots soon-to-be-free-agent cornerback Malcolm Butler.
Raiders have expressed interest in Malcolm Butler and are also expected to release CB Sean Smith.

Butler was the MVP of Super Bowl XLIX, but had a strange fall from grace with Bill Belichick this season and was essentially benched against the Eagles in this year’s Super Bowl.
Butler turns 29 in July and is considered by many to be the best cornerback on the market outside of Trumaine Johnson.
The Raiders are also believed to be very interested in Johnson.
