The harshest words from any player on the Raiders after the team’s embarrassing 48-9 loss to the Chiefs might have come from an unsuspecting rookie.
It was the final player interview after the game and rookie linebacker Devine Deablo didn’t hold back. He thinks the Raiders have guys on the roster that aren’t giving 100 percent.
“Personally I feel like a lot of people just, for lack of a better term just ‘fold,’” Deablo said.
“They’ll just lay down, come to practice not ready to practice. I know I’m a rookie but I don’t want my teammates to do that. I want to make sure they’re ready to practice and we bring that intensity every day.”
There’s a thin line between calling out teammates in a way that helps the team (as opposed to hurting the team), but considering how embarrassing the game played out on Sunday, what do the Raiders have to lose by a young player calling out a few teammates?
Maybe others should do the same.

Yup ! . We could see the team quit in the 1sr quarter at 14-0. We could see the frustration on Carr’s face. Did he quit or was he seeing what we could see. It was clear the Raiders we’re not mentally ready to play as many of them gathered on the KC logo one or two players attempting to fire up the rest of the team. Fumbles dropped passes missed blocks all signs the coaching staff lost the team. Oh there are fans and a few players holding out hope of making the playoffs , that ain’t happening. If I were Mark Davis I would be tempted to fire the entire coaching staff NOW and tell the players you know what to do you sort it out and see who rises to the top and who the quitters are.
Weve got a great team. And carr isnt the problem, look at all the yards he has. Yeah he has thrown some picks but he is human. We just need maybe a couple offensive linemen to give carr some time n some defensive players cause our guys have been getting hurt to n definitely need couple deep wide receivers. Got a good one in jackson n hardly use him. N need to use mariotta n mix him up more like we have a little n use his speed. Hopefully Waller is able to come back n feels a lot better.

You must didn’t pay attention to the salary cap on the offensive side with the OL vs the DL.its easy to rebuild an OL its very hard to rebuild on the Defensive side. All the money went to the DF.they figured Carr was good enough to carry the offense. The D was the side that needed fixing. They had no money so they cut the OL by trading and releasing and put together something that they figured would hold up on Defense. Well it all back fired.. but you can see what Gruden was trying to do but it was going to take some time to build that power house of a team. Unfortunately coach started a little to late and well we know the rrst.

It all starts at the top. Raiders need to run this business with professionals who know what they are doing. Need strong GM with independent power, then the head coach who does not have a final say on personnel moves other than who makes the team out of training camp. Given Mark’s somewhat hands off approach, he may need to also hire a President of operations to assist in putting this team together. Compare the organizational strengths of the Raiders vs other long time successful franchises and other sports teams- take the Warriors for example and the contract is very clear. It is not a player here or there is is the structure of the top down organization that needs the first fix. The rest will follow.

Lack of discipline isn’t their only problem. There is a serious lack of talent, especially along the Gruden/Mayock constructed OL, and, of course, the lack of a qualified HC, and GM for that matter.
Great observation. I agree totally. Gruden got rid of all the starters from last year. Most of them anyway. Drafted Leatherwood. No one heard of him and I see why. He has more holding penalties than blocks. Bad roster decisions and bad draft picks have hurt us for a while. A no nonsense coach and a knowledgeable GM. That’s for starters.

We have great players at individual positions but that’s how they’re playing them as individuals, they need to get together as a team and play together as a team. Too much new faces that don’t know how to jive with the other players they don’t know how to match to the beat of the other drum, so they don’t fit in right in their first year together. we need to get comfortable with each other and finish up like we opened up the season undefeated. God willing.

I have loved the Raiders since 1972 – I was eight. It has been a LONG time since we were strong, confident and teams feared playing us. We need to clean house on the entire coaching staff, including the GM. We need to draft smarter, practice longer, play harder and be more smarter. Boot any and all cancers, get tough, get mean and win by more than a last minute touch down here and there and we need to do in now. Just win baby!

The Raider dilemma was exacerbated by Gruden and Mayock. After trading away great players, obtaining favorable draft positions and making very bad selections, Raider nation is back to a complete rebuild. The team needs a disciplinarian for a head coach. Jack DelRio’s tenure makes him look like a mastermind in comparison to Gruden. Respect to rookie LB Divine Diablo for divulging why the team is where it’s at.
A complete rebuild? Glad you aren’t in charge. This team has a lot of great players to build around. Blowup the front office sure, but not the great talent that is on this team. Get rid of dead weight, but not a complete rebuild, that would be foolish.
The team plays like they are coached. Not impressed at all. Head coach needs to be the fire that lights the blaze of emotion. Raider head coach is not the answer. To many middle of the road excuses. Players need to be accountable on their play not just collecting a paycheck.
Good for him. If other VETERAN players would do the same, maybe it would light a fire under some asses. We sure as hell can’t expect the coaching staff to do it or it would have been done already. And to be honest, the only players that would be upset by this is the ones not giving it their all. If they are laying down because of the coaching, then they need to call out the coaches. Either way, this team is a mess and it needs to be addressed NOW. New Head Coach, DEFINITELY a new offensive coordinator, new LB coaches, new DB coaches. We need a LOT of work !!!!

I know Cable’s hands are probably tied, but he should switch out Leatherwood, put someone in that can do the job, waiting for him to learn will get any QB killed! I know many do not like Carr, but I think he is very capable if he gets some steady support, and I do agree that we should be using Mariotta allot more than 1 play every 2 games. I think he is a good compliment to Carr, that goes to the imagination of the OC. The DC doesn’t or cannot adjust fast enough so he goes zone, WTF, there is always a pocket for a receiver, and no one is ever close enough to go for a interception. I know there are injuries on both sides of the ball, but I’m amazed no one can step up and do the job.
Every team that is in playoff contention has had some adversity this year, and have played thru it, maybe a couple losses, but they played thru it, the Raiders have adversity and they throw in the towel. Those teams and others from that era like the 70’s Steelers couldn’t play today. Flag on every play! To physical. May as well play touch or flag football. Hire Louis Riddick as the GM and get a coach who is going to hold himself accountable 1st and has RESPECT as hellava leader as an HC! Then allow him to bring in his staff. A staff that puts the best 11 on the field! Bring some REAL RAIDERS to the building to express what it REALLY is to be a RAIDER! Get the system right all around to where if we loss a Player or 2 in the season for a few games we won’t miss a beat when it’s next man up. Do you know who gives 110% effort on every single play? Marcus Mariota! Give Marcus a chance n put him in on the first offensive drive of the game to throw your opponents off! He will give this team the spark that is missing with Carr. So what if he gets hurt or throws an interception. At least he will tackle that db with full force n not let that db just run past him on the way to a TD like every other QB in the NFL. Carr is losing the confidence of his team that’s why this team is playing half ***! I’d rather see a team giving 100%effort n lose the game than a team just going thru the motions every week n losing anyway, like that last game against the Chiefs.
It’s hard for me and some others that have watched Mariota since his college days and his time with Tennessee Titans. I’ve read recently that DC struggles had something to do with having two coaches, while not many know Mariota had 3HC changes. Change hurt teams. Moving forward with Mariota doesn’t matters. Don’t expect Owner/Management to quick fix this disaster with Mariota. Leave DC just where he is and Mariota playing only red zone. With DC type stat he should move🤔 the to the red zone to use Mariota. Raiders have nothing for Mariota to play 60% of the snaps. Crazy ****!🤫
Mariota played in one game @60% snaps into overtime losing X3. Will Mariota play? All he wants, the Raiders already knows. It’ doesn’t matter if he’s a Raiders next year or not. Time to Ball 🏈
Sick and tired of the same results! The old coach is gone. It hurt my soul when he let good players go for draft picks that we never gotten a return on. He also dismantled our o-line that Carr trusted……I can go on but I’m wasting precious energy typing. Now with no one to grade his papers, I do believe in Mayock. He took the fall for Gruden’s actions, explained it and did it convincingly. I believe the making of a good team is not far off. Remember, “Rome wasn’t built in one day.” We have to start with a coach that has that Raiders mentality. “I know easier said than done, huh.” Meaning, we should get a defensive minded head coach (J. Del Rio) and a strong OC (Kellen Moore/Brian Daboll). I know you’re thinking why would they come here? Well, money talks. Draft DT Jordan Davis, we have no interior push up the middle what so ever and that’s been hurting us all season. I believe we have a good secondary with no real leadership. Our LBs are either not what they use to be or is a never going to be. Draft a young ILB. None of the units play together because they’re thinking too much instead of going after the ball as a team. A defensive mind coach can fix that. Offensively, fans too emotional. I’m tired of hearing about how Carr is a good guy. Losers say that! I admit, he’s doing well because game situation forces him to throw down field (because we’re down a lot) but in reality, Carr is a dink and dunk QB that no one wants to admit. That’s what frustrated Gruden most and is why Mariota stuck around. He didn’t trust what he was seeing. O-line need to improve with depth. We need a speedy WR. Get rid of the FB position with another TE. A fullback is nothing more than a slower, shorter and wider TE.
At this point, we’re not built to win like champions. We’re built to go thru the motions of, “Well, there’s next season.” I wouldn’t clean house, just a little sweeping because the foundation (player wise) is there to build a better house. We have to run the plays that works for us. I’m sick of seeing a good run by our RB and then the next play (tired and all) they give him the ball up the middle for no gain. There’s no play action, no set’em up to knock’em down mentality. We have to change and it starts with accountability and leadership.

All these GMs from the couch! Every year the fans have all the answers! I will say Derek Carr has given his all with nothing to really show for it. He’s not the reason we always lose but he’s not the solution either. Al Davis wouldn’t have kept him this long. He wouldn’t have cared how nice he is. Al demanded greatness. All these guys are demanding now is mediocrity! Mayock is great at finding talent deep in the draft but Gruden was in charge and Gruden was too confident in his own coaching abilities that he picked low talent high character guys too much and this is where we are now. Lamb is a future HOF WR! Ruggs is going to prison for a long time! So much for High Character! We need a splash this off-season! Bring in Dabo! Bring in Aaron Rodgers and Devante Adam! Olsen is not a wartime consigliere! He was brought in as Grudens yes man! We need someone who knows how to move the ball,is creative, and a coach with some guts thats not going to settle for fgs inside the 10 when we are down 20 pts in the 2nd half! That’s how the Chiefs always find a way to get Tyreek Hill and Kelce the ball even though everyone knows its coming! Anyway that’s my two cents from the couch! Lol RN4L!

Tom Cable people. He’ll right the ship, take no b.s. from any coach, much less any player. Mark Davis, your own father hired him in the past and he did the team better with much less caliber of players.
I have been a Raider fan since 1968. We used to go to Shea Stadium to see the Jets- Raiders. I remember when George Blanda replaced Lamonica, late in the game, and through a TD to Warren Wells THEN kicked the winning xtra point!!
Another story, me and my Dad ( I was in the 8th grade) were at a bar in New Orleans during Super Bowl week.( Vikings- Steelers) The Raiders had lost to the Steelers in the AFC championship game the week before. John Madden, Al Davis, Pete Banasak and Al Locasele were at the bar…I approached them and asked for autographs… They were all SUPER NICE! I still have Al Davis’s card, with Maddens signature on the back.

Leatherwood is a bum! Rookie or not, you can’t get called for dumb holding and false start calls every game. We should have never wasted a 1st rd pick on him. PERIOD! 🤬 We have to either upgrade or let the DBs who are not coming to practice hard everyday go (I’m almost positive that’s who the rook was speaking on). I do feel like the 🦓 always has it out for the black & silver, considering the disdain for Al Davis. That play where Zay Jones was held in the final seconds against Washington would have been flagged if the shoe was on the other foot. I really like Derek Carr, but he sometimes acts like his legs don’t work! It’s a new league, and you have to be willing to run when you’re under pressure! You have to! Slide if you don’t want to get hit/hurt. I feel like Mariota should get some playing time too. He knows how to get those legs going. Overall, there are BIG issues with our team, but our offensive line (especially Leatherwood) needs to be held accountable, our DBs need to come to practice and go-hard, and study tape, and Derek has to be better! Fixing the O-line will help in this case, but we must keep Mariota! I know a lot of teams are going to be after him, but at all costs, we have to have him around! Coaching staff and the GM roles needs a major overhaul. I’d like to see us make an attempt to get Bill Cowher out of retirement. I think he’ll bring a level of discipline across the board. If not, let’s get Eric Bieniemy away from the Chiefs. He’s due! As far as GM, we need Louis Riddick! Great 🏈 mind. These “adjustments” would put us in a better place moving forward. #RaiderNation until I die, but I swear they **** near give me a heart attack every Sunday! Even the **** off-season with the picks they make!
Been a fan since the 80 team. Yeah we had a few talented guys, but we played as one. Gave 100 percent. The current dream should be ashamed of losing two games to an opponent in your division that you already know . Its mot like you didn’t have this date circled on the calendar. KC sure did. Its starts with the coach. Get your team prepared. Get an OC that has a clue to go after the other teams weakness. Get rid of guys going through the motions. Put in players who want to win. Bench the bums who don’t. Good job your man calling them out.
Hire Eric Bienemy for head coach, excellent offensive mind and has learned much about coaching from Andy Reid.
It all comes down to TEAMWORK, commanded by superb coaching and management! I’ve watched for 55- years, and the Raiders have always had talented players, but their success always hinged on those named…Al Davis, John Rauch, John Madden, Tom Flores, Art Shell, John Gruden (part-1), Bill Callahan, and Jack DelRio to bring teams together.
I don’t see anyone like that here, and THIS team isn’t playing like ONE!
I never imagined turning a game off after one hour, but that happened last Sunday! I stayed away for just 10- minutes,
and then suffered through the final 2-hours…ASHAMED!
That can’t happen again!
It won’t if more players follow the rookie’s lead, call each other out, and somehow come back as ONE!
Beating Cleveland would be a good first step. After that, some of you have sound suggestions!

That GM will hire whatever top candidate coach is interested in coming over, – Leftwich, Bowles, Bienemy ect
I think Carr is good QB not great. Raiders would be going to the playoffs if they could draft properly.
Drafting a QB like Herbert, Allen, Burrow changing your team around instantly. Chargers got Herbert with the 6th pick after 5 wins that year the Raiders had a whole two more wins ended up the 12th pick – Ruggs
I think trading Carr, accumulate some picks. Yes the Raiders will be bad without Carr the result will be a 1-2 top 10 picks but they get an opportunity at a great QB on a rookie deal for 5 years. I don’t think the Raiders are that far off. The D is much improved with Bradley, keep all the young guys on both sides of the ball and go for a QB. Its starts with GM and then HC they get right duo in there the Raiders can be consistent contenders like all other consistent organizations.
When the Raiders left Oakland they lost there true Identity instead of being blue collar hard nosed football team they moved Vegas! They are just phony and made of plastic like the city they now play in. Once a proud franchise with a loyal fan base they just part of the pretty lights on the strip. Nothing is real in Vegas except the money that Casinos make on suckers! The are now part of that phony world!

The team is just not very good.
Losing Gruden, in my opinion, was fortunate. He was in his 4th year and the team is completely mediocre. His all-time coaching record is barely above .500.
They’ve got a reasonably talented roster, but, not enough to reach 10 or more wins on a regular basis; that’ll happen only when they win 2/3rds of their close games.
This Season has Been a Hectic Disaster with everything from winning the first 3 game , then losing the next 2 then losing Gruden over some silly BS then losing Ruggs III
Another season down the drain!!! Look at teams that make the playoffs – they either have a top rated quarterback or top 5 defense. We have neither!
Derek Carr leads the NFL in fumbles since he entered the league with 72! He’s like 7th in interceptions. Problem is, he turns the ball over on the most critical times! His individual numbers look good but “team numbers” suck! Cannot pickup a 1st down when needed, coughs up the ball and kills the momentum, scared to scramble, scared to stay in the pocket while other quarterbacks are willing to take a hit! Let’s give another guy a shot, worse case it will be the same with .500 record or worse. Tired of ALL these clowns saying it’s the OL, what happened when he had a top 5 OL, same results, right?! Might be the quarterback, just saying?

I’ve been reading a lot of comments on this website and they’re for the most part pretty good but here’s my take first and foremost we need a defensive coordinator defense wins second I think car is a good quarterback but he has no line Mariota at this point would be better in the offense right now because of his mobility we need to draft another pass rusher and please get another couple linebackers that are going to impact the game offensive coordinator is a joke go out of the organization and get a head coach and offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator I think we’ve got some new good players we need a few more and we’ll roll again it’s been too long go back and watch the films when Ken stabler used to play quarterback he had a half hour to throw the ball watch Brady with his old line or Aaron Rodgers and his old line that’s what makes a quarterback and cars leading the league in passing with no line but it doesn’t matter how many points you score if you can’t hold the other team from scoring and I hate to cry but the officiating this year has been ridiculous
