Report Confirms Rumors around Davante Adams, Trade Could Come Sooner than Later

Davante Adams trade rumors reached a new level on Tuesday with a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Vinny Bonsignore that the Raiders have begun reaching out to teams, inquiring on their interest in trading for the All-Pro wide receiver.

The term used by Bonsignore was “growing open” to the idea of trading Adams, but if the Raiders are reaching out to teams, the situation is a lot farther along than “growing open” to the idea.

Based on Bonsignore’s report, it sounds like there will be no reversing course. The toothpaste isn’t going back in the tube. Adams is going to traded and it’s only a matter of when he’s going to be traded.

Vincent Bonsignore on X (formerly Twitter): “More on this to come: A league source with knowledge of the situation confirmed that the @Raiders are growing open to the idea of trading Davante Adams. The source said the club has begun reaching out to teams to gauge interest in the veteran wide receiver. / X”

The question now is simple…

What team wants Adams the most and what will they be willing to give up for him?

The New York Jets are the team that many believe would be his preferred destination, but would the Raiders trade Adams within the AFC?

Adams talked on the Up and Adams Show on Tuesday morning, and it seemed apparent that he wasn’t particularly amused by the headlines around his name on Monday evening.

Safe to say, and this isn’t speculation, the situation between Adams and the Raiders is in position to escalate quickly.

  1. Well, here we go again! Mack, Cooper, Jacobs and many other star players. Somehow, Raiders management think by trading their best players the team is going to improve significantly, rather than to continue to build around them. And what do they get in return? Another wasted year and a continuing failed rebuild. Look what Gruden and Mayock got for all those first rounder’s they received by dealing Mack and Cooper. Are any of those first rounders left?
All I can say is they better get a first rounder at a minimum, so they can trade up in the draft next year for a decent QB. Of course, with their final 2024 Win / Loss record they may not need to.
It’s becoming a joke. As a 45-year devout Raider fan, I’m sick of it.
Look at what the Commanders and other teams are doing.
When will trade rumors around Crosby start circulating? Can anyone say Mack / Cooper?

  2. The buzz about Adams being on the trade block are reminiscent of several years blather over Carr being on the block. Why the constant speculation? Do the writers have nothing else to discuss?
