There have been a number of reports since late December indicating the Raiders intend to part ways with wide receiver Michael Crabtree.
Whether that changed when Jon Gruden arrived is anyone’s guess, but Gruden’s comments earlier this week made it sound like Crabtree at least has a chance to be back.
It’s worth nothing that the Bay Area News Group’s Jerry McDonald (who did the interview with Gruden about Crabtree) warned against making too much of Gruden’s comments on Crabtree.
Would advise against jumping to conclusions regarding Jon Gruden's intentions when it comes to players on roster, whether it's Carr, Crab, Lynch, etc. If someone's still under contract, his public stance will be positive. Is gathering info with limited personal contact.

On Friday, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora addressed the offseason plans of all 32 teams and says that Crabtree and cornerback Sean Smith are not in the team’s plans for next season.
As for Smith, he’s essentially assured to be released, but there might be a small chance he could return to the team at a cheaper cost says Sirius XM NFL producer Eddie Borsilli, who despite being a Mets fan, does occasionally get things right.
He hasn’t been listed as someone that’s on the chopping block but it wouldn’t shock me to see Jared Cook released and you ready for it…. Sean Smith back at a big time reduction. Maybe released and brought back

And so around and around we go.
Anyone getting dizzy yet?
