Were the Raiders disappointed that Davante Adams’ trade request reached the public?
It’s not something that has been talked about to this point, but based on comments from Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter, it sounds like the Raiders were hoping to keep Adams’ trade request a secret.
“I do not believe it’s a probability, but there is a legitimate shot, a percentage chance, that he could come back… but I think there are some legitimate problems here,” Carpenter said of Adams on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast.
“When you let it leak out,” Carpenter continued, “regardless of who the leaker is, and I certainly know who I think it was, but when you let it leak out, that somebody doesn’t want to be here, it lowers the trade market.”
Hondo didn’t say who he believes leaked the trade request, but he obviously doesn’t think it was anyone in the Raiders’ building.
That leaves only Adams or his representatives that would have leaked the trade request, and ultimately lessened his trade value.
The only benefit of the doubt Adams might deserve in this case, though, is that it was the Raiders head coach who jump started the trade rumors with his ‘liked’ social media post suggesting the team was looking to trade the All-Pro wide receiver.
It’s been nearly two weeks since Adams asked the Raiders to trade him and it seems like the team will be incredibly fortunate to get their asking price of a second-round pick.
The team’s response to the grim outlook on Adams’ trade value is one that was relatively predictable.
They’ll just return to the previously-held position that they might not trade him…

There not getting a second or paying to trade him so my guess is Adams stays rest of the year. Then is released
You guys are ignorant or dumb, most likely dumb. Because everyone knows Adams told DeSean Jackson and probably other friends. But DJ told everyone and you guys even reported on it! Always trying to start drama!
Adams didn’t support Minshew getting QB1 over AOC; Adams wanted AOC and rightfully so. We know the ceiling for Minshew while AOC still has a lot of potential. Adams wanted AOC and now that he has him as his QB1 he is more inclined to stay.
Get rid of the weasel that leaked it. It will be a point made to all that this won’t be tolerated period. Stays in house and if you ignore it and leak your gone.
