Schefter Addresses Maxx Crosby Trade Rumors

With Davante Adams now out the door in Las Vegas, some have questioned whether the Raiders might see what they can get for All-Pro EDGE rusher Maxx Crosby.

Unlike Adams, Crosby has been convincing that he wants to remain with the Raiders, but if the team is in rebuild mode, would it make sense to consider offers for Crosby?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter talked about the possibility this week and he believes Crosby won’t be going anywhere. In fact, Schefter says the Raiders wouldn’t even listen to offers that included multiple first-round picks.

“I believe earlier in the year there might’ve been a team that asked the team about Maxx Crosby and might’ve floated a one,” Schefter said this week on the Pat McAfee Show. “I think [the Raiders] said, ‘Yeah, you start with multiple ones on that guy and even then we wouldn’t even entertain it.’”

Never say never when it comes to the Raiders, but trading Crosby seems unimaginable. He’s the heart and soul of the locker room and beloved by everyone in the building, maybe even more so than Khalil Mack in 2018.

Crosby never held out an entire offseason for more money, so he at least has that on Mack.

The Mack trade is still regarded as one of the worst personnel moves in team history, and losing Crosby to a trade would be a public relations hit that no one in the Raider organization should be willing to attach their name to.

There will be calls about Crosby between now and the November 5 trade deadline, and it would be interesting to know what teams would be willing to give up for him.

Three first round picks and maybe the Raiders pick up the phone?

  1. The raiders are in constant rebuild mode. As much as I hate to say it, maybe 3 first round picks, and I trade him. There not winning with him, so trading him won’t make a difference. However, I do not trust the front office to draft anyone great with multiple first round picks for the next 3yrs, ie clellin Ferrell, tyre Wilson. Keeping it real, peace out.

  2. Crosby is the face of the franchise. Would the Yankees trade Jeter? Would the Bulls trade Jordan? Common sense would tell you the Raiders would not trade him. It’s these jabronis whose knowledge of the NFL comes from playing franchise mode on Madden who come up with this nonsense. Stick to Playstation and hotpockets you jabronis.

  3. What Jose said is crazy. Jordan and Jeter won championships and it was in a different era. If Jeter had a crappy team all the time it might of been different.
