In his 21 months with the Raiders, Josh McDaniels was able to bring the fan base together better than any head coach in recent memory.
The team was terrible, but fans were in agreement on the singular decision the organization needed to make…
McDaniels needed to be fired.
We’ll never know how the last two years would have played out for the Raiders if Mark Davis didn’t make the regrettable decision to part ways with interim head coach Rich Bisaccia, but one thing we are able to know is that Bisaccia wasn’t as popular at the end of his tenure as he is today.
Going into the final game of the 2021 regular season, less than a third of Raider fans wanted to see Bisaccia retained as head coach. Bisaccia gained a little momentum after beating the Chargers to get into the playoffs, but Raider fans were hardly all-in on him at the time…
Fast forward to today and the fan base seems to be more comfortable with the latest interim head coach in Las Vegas.
Social media polls are hardly the most scientific method to gaining information, but it’s noteworthy that just over 47 percent of the fans who voted this week said they would like to see Pierce return next year as the head coach.
And this polling data comes after consecutive losses…

As of right now the team is night and day in comparison to McDaniels tenure so of course the rose colored glasses are on. Rich led the team through so many different things in 21. From Gruden to Ruggs and everything little thing else. The horrible draft picks, the terrible free agent signings, the let’s get rid of Carr crowd. Through it all they figured out a way to make the postseason and almost figured out a way to win. At that time the flaws on the roster were there but that team led by that coach still took the team back to the playoffs for only the second time in 20 years. Antonio has only had four games, so far with this version of a roster he’s 2-2. No matter what happens the rest of the year a look into more coaches has to be done. The offensive system is (to put it mildly) not good and even with improvements to the defensive play it still needs major improvements. Just think about last year and how many leads they lost. So my vote would be, give me some other choices.
Hey Nation, guys, gals, I don’t think we should retain Antonio Pierce!! Why?? Because he doesn’t move the team forward or make them better!! Neither does Gruden or Bisaccia!!. We need a coach who will be forward thinking, knows how to evaluate talent, and knows how to draft correctly. Jon Gruden was the worst talent evaluatior ever!! He couldn’t draft beer!! He has never built a team. The team he won the Superbowl with in Tampa Bay was built by Tony Dungy!! Anyway we don’t need to over think about hiring a good coach. There are a few good ones out there!! The main guy being Jim Harbaurg. Don’t know if I spelled it correctly but everyone knows who I’m talking about. Also a few younger offensive and defensive coordinators out there and also college coaches available. JH has won everywhere he has been HC. We need someone who can provide stability!! He is gonna want certain control but hell we gave Gruden the keys to everything no problem and he hasn’t won anything!! Let’s go Raiders!!
Don’t make the same mistake twice Mark Davis! You and the team can’t afford itKeep and promote AP to permanent head coach. The locker room loves him, a good percentage of the fans want him, the media seems to like him and will go fair on him, his peers seem to respect him —so give him at minimum a 1 year contract to further develop the team and a good QB coach to further develop Aiden O’Connel whether he is the guy for next year and beyond. They’ ll be other QB draft prospects next year .
