The Raiders are one of five NFL teams still searching for a head coach and there has been a lot of speculation in recent days around who should be considered the front runner to get the job.
The popular opinion has been that Klint Kubiak, Mike LaFleur or Davis Webb will end up with the job in Las Vegas, and if there is a slight favorite, most would say it’s probably Kubiak.
But LaFleur and Webb have interviewed well with the Raiders and Sports Illustrated insider Albert Breer called Webb his favorite to get the job earlier in the week.
On Friday, Breer elaborated more on why he thinks Webb might have the inside track on the job.
“Davis Webb to me might be the most interesting name [for the Raiders]. He’s incredibly well thought of,” Breer said on the Rich Eisen Show.
“He hasn’t coached for very long is the problem. But he played in the league recently. My understanding is he’s got a passing relationship with Tom Brady, but he’s got two offensive coordinator names that I know are on this list that have tight connections to Brady. One is Brian Daboll, who could wind up going to Tennessee as the coordinator or could go to Buffalo as the head coach, but Brian Daboll is one name for Davis Webb.”
“They were together both in New York and Buffalo when Davis was a player, and the other is Kliff Kingsbury, who almost went to Vegas a couple of years ago as a coordinator, who’s tight with Brady,” Breer continued.
“I think Davis Webb has a ton of head coach qualities… I think with Davis, what part of the logic is, do we go in early on a guy, a year early with a guy, bring in an experienced offensive coordinator who can work with the quarterback and just bet on this guy’s upside. So I think Davis Webb has a shot in Vegas under that sort of setup.”
Davis may lack coaching experience, but after the 2025 season, Tom Brady and GM John Spytek may not see that as a major issue.
With the way things played out with Pete Carroll, Brady and Spytek may welcome someone a little more impressionable at head coach going forward.
The other detail we have on Webb’s candidacy is that he has made a particularly strong impression on the Raiders in the interview process.
Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter talked Webb’s interview with the team this week.
“Davis Webb, who is the 30-year-old passing game coordinator for the Broncos, interviewed the other day with the Raiders, and late last night I got some great feedback on the interview. It was told that it was not good. It was phenomenal,” Carpenter said on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast.
“I would just say this, I think the Raiders were very pleasantly surprised. I’m not predicting he’s going to get a second interview, but it would not shock me at all. I asked the person I spoke to, do you think [there] is going to be a second interview? And their exact words were, ‘Wouldn’t be surprised.’ That was exactly how they worded it.”

4th & ONE HC FROM THE GOAL
Brady and Spytek must get this right and with that goal they must keep Davis out of this decision. Not just this job but the key positions of: O.C., D.C and Teams. Brady still has the juice to get some people but if they F*ch this up, forget about it. Brady’s credibility and reputation are on the line with these decisions and the draft as well too.
The next big issue is will we spend the money to improve? We did not spend the money last year, Spytek went cheap to thrifty, a formula to stay out of the playoffs. ( If we go Oakland A’s money ball again this year then we are not serious about winning and they have thrown in the towel.) If they have given up why follow? Follow the money this off season and it will reveal if the Raiders are still commited to winning or not.

So Fat Albert thinks we need a coach to bumble through a few years leaning then he’s fired and have to start all over, Both he and Brady are dumb as goats
Why are the Raiders always involved in potential bad decision making?! Bo Nix has proven nothing other then he can pull a game or two out of his a$$ and that’s only because of the defense who can be had also. For a copy cat league, why has no one took a page from the Chargers, Jags, or even the Giants play books on how to beat those clowns? Every one thinks their smarter than the next guy and when the games over they just look like clowns.
