Davante Adams said all the right things after Sunday’s loss to the Chargers, but is he going to change his tune if the Raiders don’t start playing better?
Yahoo and Fox Sports Radio host Jason Fitz is one of the industry’s best media commenters on the Raiders and he shared a confident opinion on Adams’ future with the Raiders on Tuesday.
“Even if this season goes off the rails, I cannot say this loud enough. I think even if the Raiders win three games, Davante Adams is going to be a Raider in week 18. I believe that,” Fitz said on Raider Nation Radio’s Morning Tailgate.
“I don’t believe that the Raiders would get anything in trade value that would make it worth getting rid of somebody that means as much to the organization as he does. I think Davante also knows that. So the level of patience changes when you know that ‘hey, this is the way life’s going to be this year.’”
“You can figure it out for next year,” Fitz continued. “I don’t think he’s going anywhere. I don’t think that there’s going to be a big blow up other than the usual blow up that comes from a wide receiver that wants and deserves the ball on every play.”
Despite reports to the contrary, Adams has made it clear that he doesn’t want to leave the Raiders.
As far as the team is concerned, the Raiders could potentially be limited in their trade options if they choose to shop their All Pro receiver. Adams doesn’t have a no-trade clause, but no team is going to trade for his massive contract without assurances that he wants to be there.
Contrary to what Fitz believes, there are a fair amount of well-connected media types who believe Adams will have significant trade value ahead of the trade deadline… but there’s a lot of football left before that (potential) conversation is going to happen.

The odds are against this team making the playoffs, they will finish with around a 500 record, again. That said, I’m in favor of trading him if we can recoup a no.1 draft pick in return. He’s over 30, so he is in the tail end of his career. We need to be like Harbaugh and build through the trenches. Our OL has and continues to be a weak point. No QB will look good playing behind this OL.
Go get a qb….. Hendon hooker, Dorian Robinson-Thompson or Trey Lance. Small price to pay to try and salvage the season. So glad Prescott is now not an option and stay away from gimpy cousins, darnold, draft a qb.
No I think it’s important to keep devante Adams Alyssa he says he would like to go to a team that’s going to the playoffs if he makes that comment to the Raiders which I don’t think you will then I would let him know we will honor his wishes because he deserves to play with a good team I know he loves the Raiders and nobody can say otherwise now the only other team I would think about trading them to if he wanted to get traded to it that would be back to Green Bay or maybe to the saints to go play without a car you know if they’re doing good and they need able to see her then we can talk about it other than that I mean it’ll Rogers that’s only way I would do that only because I know human rights will click like that and no matter what he would be protecting him and I like Kobe and Shack if that’s the case would go
