Ian Rapoport Addressed Davante Adams Trade Rumors at the Super Bowl

The Raiders are weeks away from entering what will probably be their busiest offseason in recent memory.

The expectation is that the Raiders will make an aggressive move for a quarterback between now and the draft, and many believe LSU’s Jayden Daniels is the quarterback the team will ultimately target in the draft.

As for the wide receiver the new quarterback will be throwing to next year, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport addressed trade rumors that have been swirling around Davante Adams since October.

“The Las Vegas Raiders [are] in ‘win now’ mode, not really in the business of giving away really good players, despite the fact that my understanding is Aaron Rodgers has been trying to recruit Davante Adams to the Jets. Remember the Jets kind of made a run at Adams this past year. There was nothing there. [They are] expected to try again this offseason. From what I am told, the Raiders want to win, believe they can, and have zero plans to trade Davante Adams.”

Every indication over the last few weeks is that Adams wants to stay with the Raiders, but it would be interesting to see what the Raiders would do if they were blown away by an offer from the Jets.

With the Jets in extreme all-in mode, and Aaron Rodgers practically assuming the role of general manager, there is a possibility the Raiders could be offered a first-round pick for Adams, and maybe more.

Just something to think about…

Other than Patrick Mahome and maybe a few other quarterbacks, everyone in the league has a price tag. The cost to get Adams might be extraordinary, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be someone willing to pay the price.
