Justin Fields Named Raiders and 2 Other Teams that Showed Offseason Interest in Him

Justin Fields is 3-0 as quarterback of the Steelers, and he definitely isn’t regretting his decision to take his talents to Pittsburgh.

On the Not Just Football podcast this week, Fields talked about the process of being traded away from the Bears and shared a few of the teams that were interested in trading for him.

According to Fields, the Chargers, Ravens and Raiders were all teams that reached out, but it sounded like there were more teams in the mix than he decided not to share.

Earlier on the podcast, Fields said the Bears let him choose where he wanted to be traded, and that his top choice was the Steelers.

Without reading too much into his separate statements (video above), it doesn’t sound like the Raiders were particularly high on Fields’ list of teams he wanted to play for. It didn’t sound like he knew much about the Raiders interest or at least didn’t want to talk about it.

Yahoo and Fox Sports radio host Jason Fitz might have offered a little insight into that situation all the way back in March.

“I talked to somebody that knows the Bears in and out and has covered the Bears for a while, that is really familiar with the organization, and they told me very, very clearly that there is no relationship between Getsy and Justin Fields,” Fitz said on Raider Nation Radio’s Morning Tailgate.

“I asked this question weeks ago. ‘Hey, what are the chances?’ And the answer I got was not just ‘No.’ The answer I got was ‘Hell, no.’”
