Will Pete Carroll be the next one-and-done head coach of the Raiders?
The popular opinion seems to be that Carroll will be fired at the end of the season, and flagship radio host Q Myers shared a potential replacement he would be on board with if Carroll is ultimately let go.
“[Kevin Stefanski] won’t be out of a job long if [the Browns] let him go. He’ll get picked up really quickly. That would be a coach that I’d definitely be interested in,” Myers said on the Locked on Raiders Squad Show podcast.
“I think Kevin Stefanski is a really good coach. I think the situation in Cleveland he did not want. I don’t think the situation in Cleveland that they have right now, Andrew Barry, the GM, wanted it,” Myers continued.
“That’s just from everything I know and the people that I know that are there are like, ‘This is not what it looks like from the outside.’ I think Kevin Stefanski is a really good head coach. I think he’ll have a handful of teams that are chasing him if he gets let go. Every year, there’s like what… seven, eight teams that have head coaching openings? Yeah, he’ll get swooped up quick.”
Stefanski is in his sixth season with the Browns and has two 11-win seasons on his resume since joining the Browns in 2020.
If Tom Brady and company go the route of taking a young quarterback in the 2026 draft, they could do a lot worse than pairing him up with Stefanski, who is one of the more respected offensive coaches in the league.
If Stefanski is fired by the Browns, it will be interesting to see if he has interest in a potential job opening in Las Vegas considering the Raiders don’t have a reputation (in recent years) that’s a lot better than the Browns.
With two games remaining in the season, Carroll still has time to make the case for his job, but if he’s going to win this week against the New York Giants, it will have to happen without Brock Bowers (injured reserve) and Maxx Crosby (knee), who reportedly went home on Friday after being told he will be held out of the game on Sunday.

With the chronic culture of snafus by Mark Davis, and now Tom Brady is meddling with the team, why would any self respecting coach be interested in Las Vegas??
Money…What’s funny is Vinny B still perpetuates that lie that Brady is heavily impacted in getting guys here yet he was horrible in it.
Coaches are gonna look at other options but the 1st thing id do is tell Brady to stay the fu** out of my business. Even a-holes like Rich Gannon didn’t want to be a coach cuz he knew of all the hours they put in
GO GIANTS – fire Carroll and Co along with Smith – send Mark on a 5 year African Safari and maybe he’ll get lost after smoking Gangi
I think Stefanski would be a fine choice. On the one hand, unlike AP and Carroll, he’ll have other options, so he might not choose the Raiders. On the other hand, he’ll be in a position to make some demands and the Raiders need that!
Yeah while I don’t want the coach to have final say on personnel(GM’s job), I’d like the HC to tell guys like Brady stay the fudge out of the coaching booth, stay away from my game plans/coaching and all suggestions are just that suggestions
If I were Stefanski I wouldn’t want anything to do with the Vegas situation. It might be the only one worse than the Browns, at least they get Home crowds. He might end up being KC’s new offensive coordinator, ready to step up when Andy Reid leaves in another year or two.
With the chronic losing culture plus no real home field advantage I’d say they would need to get extremely lucky and pursue a little known assistant coach, like Al Davis did with Gruden. And his success would depend on a front office capable of infusing the roster with talent. A lot needs to fall into place to make this a winning organization.
Maybe Mark Davis will consult with Jeffrey Epstein on who to hire as the Raiders next head coach. “Thank heaven for little girls.”
