Maxx Crosby’s Future in Las Vegas Could be Tied to Key Figure in Raiders’ Building

According to a report from FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer, Raiders All Pro edge rusher Maxx Crosby “left the building” on Friday after the team informed him he was being shut down for the season.

Most would agree that the decision was in the best interest of everyone involved but, not surprisingly, Crosby wasn’t happy about the decision.

At Friday afternoon’s press conference, head coach Pete Carroll said Crosby told him he would “like to get out of here” after learning his fate and Carroll said he agreed with Crosby’s decision to leave.

Carroll didn’t clarify whether Crosby’s absence is expected to be permanent, but there’s no question that trade rumors are going to ramp up around Crosby the longer he stays away from the team.

Even if Crosby is back by the weekend, there is going to be speculation that this will be his last year in Las Vegas, and some believe Crosby’s future, from his perspective at least, could be tied to Carroll’s future with the organization.

A year ago, the Raiders had to convince Crosby of their new direction and if Carroll is fired, there’s a good chance the player and team are going to be back to where they were on Christmas Eve of 2024.

Every indication is that Crosby was one of the players who bought into Carroll’s vision for the future, and he may have been one of the players Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter said was fighting for Carroll’s job earlier in the week.

Trade rumors are nothing new for Crosby, and it was rumored that at least one team offered multiple first-round picks for Crosby before the season.

If two or more premium picks are the table for Crosby in the offseason, would it be wise for the Raiders to trade their best player and leader in the locker room?

As always, your thoughts and comments welcome below.

  1. No you don’t trade the face of the raiders, trading him for two or three first round draft picks isn’t going to solve the raiders problem. They have great player’s, but they aren’t playing that way. I don’t have a ****’n clue what the raiders are go’n to do next year, trading max is not the answer. Keep mark davis out of the business end, he has no clue what he’s doing. Get rid of thead coach and his son is a good start.

    1. I agree Pete/Brennan need to go, but this team sucks & we are robbing Maxx of an opportunity to win.

Now, I vehemently disagree(With Binny in his latest mailbag) that Brady is some icon that is gonna draw coaches/players in here. Brady has already shown that he blows.

However I’d have to consider trading Maxx to get all the picks you can

  2. In Trade his “skinny armed, flabby belly” @ss!! He is a fake! He disappears on running plays and is tied for 12th in the NFL with 10 sacks. He makes $2 million a game, And he only recorded 42 tackles? I could put up those lame numbers!!
