Raiders on the Short List of Teams Odell Beckham Jr. Willing to Join

Odell Beckham Jr. didn’t give up millions of dollars to leave the Cleveland Browns just to join another dumpster fire.

An ESPN report has confirmed us much.

“Beckham does not want to go to just any team, according to sources familiar with his thinking. Beckham wants to spend the rest of this season with a playoff contender and in a winning environment, where he believes he would be happy and productive,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday.

“If a team that does not fit this criteria claims Beckham and the $7.25 million remaining on his contract, there could be potential issues for that team, according to a source, although it is unclear exactly what those issues would be,” Schefter added.

Essentially, Beckham is telling teams that they better check with him before trying to claim him. If a team claims him that he doesn’t want to play for, it’s obvious that Beckham is prepared to go back to his bag of tricks and make life as miserable as possible for that team.

The question now… are the Raiders on the short list of teams Beckham would be willing to play for?

According to sources familiar with Beckham’s thinking, the answer is yes. The Raiders are high on the list of teams Beckham would be willing to play for.

As an aside, Derek Carr is one of only two quarterbacks Odell Beckham Sr. is following on Twitter.

Ironically, the other is Johnny Manziel.

Ordinarily, the Twitter account of an NFL player’s parent wouldn’t be particularly relevant, but in the case of OBJ, it is certainly noteworthy.

New York Post Sports on Twitter: “Odell Beckham’s dad posts video blaming Baker Mayfield for son’s failures https://t.co/fIBbJvkbXj pic.twitter.com/sEHIxbYfNh / Twitter”

As for the Raiders interest in Beckham, there doesn’t seem to be a consensus among those covering the team.

Some are reporting that the Raiders are interested. Some are reporting that they are not.

  1. By far the worst officiated game of the season,NFL is getting really persistent about knocking the Raiders down, and they don’t care who notices,PERIOD

    1. Couldn’t agree more. Raiders hurt themselves, but the refs took away any chances they had on an off day for Carr

    2. Yes sir, I see so many running backs receivers leading with their helmet. As soon as Jacobs does it just preparing for the hit flag flag flag. F the refs and NFL. Be consistent stop the Raider hate.
