Week 13: Washington at Raiders Wagers and Predictions

The outcome of Sunday’s game will swing the Raiders’ playoff odds by 20 percent, making a win this week crucial to their postseason hopes.

The good news: They’re favored to do so. The bad news: News of DeSean Jackson missing practice made them less favored to do so.

Let’s take a look at the available wagers and discuss the bets worth making.

Point Spread: Washington at Raiders (-1.5)

Washington will be the fourth and final NFC East opponent for the Raiders this season. In typical Raiders fashion, they have defeated the division’s leader— the Cowboys — and lost to the division’s last-place team — the Giants.

Now they face a Washington team that has won their last three games. The betting community expects that winning streak to continue, with 60% of the moneyline cash and 81% of the spread cash wagered on the Football Team.

With Darren Waller doubtful and DeSean Jackson questionable, going against the public would be a risky — and likely losing — proposition. Wiser to bet that money elsewhere and root for a victory.

Wager: Pass

Point Total: Over/Under 49.5

The point total is another bet that’s made risky by the injury statuses of Waller and Jackson. Without speed on the outside, the Raiders have simply been unable to score many points.

Additionally, both teams’ pass-rushing units are ranked in the top five of PFF’s rankings, making this a contest where both teams may struggle to pass with success.

That said, 58% of the cash is on the over. It’s a murky bet with no clear value, therefore let’s again tip our cap to the sportsbooks and spend our money elsewhere.

Player Props

To date, this column has won 63% of recommended wagers and player props are a major reason why. And, unlike with the spread and total, there are some wagers worth making in the player prop department.

Logan Thomas Under 4.5 Receptions | -163 | PointsBet

Logan Thomas had 3 receptions last week and has gone over 4.5 receptions only once this season. -163 is a lot of juice to pay, in general, but this is still a worthwhile bet.

Wager: 1 unit

Hunter Renfrow Over 6.5 Receptions | +120 | FanDuel

Darren Waller is doubtful, DeSean Jackson is questionable and Bryan Edwards struggles to get separation. Therefore, getting plus money on Renfrow eclipsing 6.5 catches is a good value. Especially when he’s done so four of the last five games.

Wager: 1 unit

2021 Recommended-Wager Record: 19-11
