The Raiders were four yards away from jumping to a 17-3 lead on the Broncos on Sunday, but a single misguided pass from Gardner Minshew changed the entire course of the game.
The Raiders were never the same after Patrick Surtain II’s 100-yard interception return for a touchdown, and the Raiders’ 8-game winning streak against the Broncos ended with an embarrassing 34-18 loss on the road.
There weren’t a lot of positive takeaways for the Raiders after the loss, but there was an audio highlight that would have hit a lot harder on Monday if the game didn’t end in disaster.
Bo Nix is the first-year quarterback of the Broncos, and his season had been a disaster until facing the Raiders on Sunday.
Early in the game, when the football cosmos was still in order, Nix tried to make an audible at the line of scrimmage and Maxx Crosby saw an opportunity help the rookie out.
“BO SPEAK UP! THEY DON”T F—-ING KNOW!” Crosby yelled at Nix, who was trying to get the Denver offense on the same page.
The CBS broadcast picked up the audio and you can make out Crosby’s words easily in the replay…
Unfortunately, this one will be buried in the archives as the Raiders didn’t back up much of Crosby’s trash talk on Sunday.
For his part, Crosby performed well despite playing through a high ankle sprain that kept him out of the Cleveland game a week ago. Crosby sacked Nix twice, but the result was another wasted effort from the one of the most dynamic defensive players in the league.
After the game, Crosby offered another soundbite on the drama going on right now around Davante Adams.
“It is what it is. You think I’m not used to this sh– going on?” Crosby said of the Adams situation.
“It is what it is. I’ve been dealing with it my whole career, so it is what it is. Davante is my boy. I love Davante and he’s going to do what he’s going to do. Praying for him, wish him the best. He’s not healthy right now. He’s got to get healthy, but we’re focused on the Raiders. We’re focused on who’s here now.”

Maxx is the best. He deserves a better coaching staff with a mindset of winning every game by 30. This current group wants to win by 3 and ends up losing by 30. The offensive play calling is sub high school caliber. Coming to Vegas, where the Raiders will NEVER have a full stadium of Raider fans was a HUGE money grabbing error. No other NFL team has that amount of opponent fans attending every week. It is pathetic.
AP needs to grow some balls and bench Minshew… That throw was UNACCEPTABLE and that changed the complexity of the game, We have dominated the Broncos and the outcome yesterday was completely absurd. He needs to roll the dice as well and our OC is **** for brains and needs to be canned. AP has all these resourceful coaches and he needs to use them. I am tired of cheering for a losing organization that can’t seem to understand what it takes to win. I wont jump ship but enough is enough.
