Davante Adams Doubles Down, Says No One Knows What He Was Going Through with Raiders

Davante Adams said a lot of things in his time with the Raiders.

Some of it turned out to be true. Some did not.

Now Adams is with the Jets and his situation in New York looks to be even worse than what he was dealing with in Las Vegas. The Jets are 3-9 and every indication is that Aaron Rodgers is weeks away from getting run out of town.

Adams has repeatedly said he doesn’t regret the decision to force his way out of Las Vegas, and on Wednesday he said it again. But this time he added a mystery detail he has not talked about in the past.

“[I’m] extremely disappointed in the win-loss column, but as far as making the move, I don’t regret it. Not even one bit,” Adams told members of the media on Wednesday. “Nobody really, period, knows what I was going through and knows the reasons why it had to be this way.”

Jets Videos on X (formerly Twitter): “”That’s a great question and I truly don’t have the answer to it right now. I would love to be a part of this football team.”Davante Adams was asked about his future plans beyond this season: pic.twitter.com/fkQClBeZqp / X”

Whatever Adams was going through with the Raiders, he has apparently never made it public. From a football standpoint, Adams had previously said he was hopeless and helpless in Las Vegas, but it sounds like there is more to the story.

As for his situation in New York, Adams is already setting the tone for his departure. On Wednesday, he left the door open for his return but used the term “us” when talking about his possible return, presumably tying himself to Rodgers.

“I would love to be a part of this football team [next year]. I love these guys. I came in day one, I was welcomed,” Adams said. “It’s a business and there’s a lot of pieces contractually. Obviously with Aaron’s future and a lot of things I can’t control. Just going to finish this year off strong. Hopefully we do enough to where everybody’s feeling like it’s the right thing to do for us to stay here. After this year, we’ll assess and figure it out.”

From a production standpoint, Adams has not played at a high level with Rodgers. In six games as a Jet, he has 31 receptions for 344 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Since taking over as the no. 1 receiver in Las Vegas, Jakobi Meyers has played seven games with three different quarterbacks in Las Vegas (mostly with Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell) and totaled 45 receptions for 524 yards and a touchdown.

If the Jets part ways with Rodgers, don’t be surprised if Adams uses his contract (he referenced his contact in the statement above), and maybe even his hamstring again, to wiggle his way out of New York.

  1. Nobody cares! Just kinda glad watching him go to a team that just as dysfunctional as we are right now.

Now let’s fire our coaching staff and let the Tom’s figure it out and let’s get the “Commitment To Excellence” swagger back, this loosing shi+ for the past 15yrs is getting really old, and if I hear the word “rebuilding again” I’m going to loose my mind, get Verbal as your HC and let’s do this

    1. He can say whatever helps him sleep at night. We can all clearly see the truth. He is delusional or is so far up ARods arse he really thinks the Jets are in a better spot. Either way. Good riddance. Keep the Raiders Name out ya muthaeffin mouth!

  2. Stop it bro! You got paid and became a Devia. Instead of putting your head down and going to work.

  3. Poor Tae Tae. I’ll take Jacoby over Tae any day. Not a prima donna, just a tough hard working guy. No complaints from him. Enjoy NY Tae, you got what you wanted.

  4. Screw him. He is such a diva, whenever things don’t go his way, all he does is cry and leave town. He quit on Green Bay, he quit on Vegas, and he’s going to quit on New York, if he hasn’t already. Wherever he goes, he is going to make it way more toxic than it already was.

  5. Prima Donna. Only gives $10 Taco Bell gift cards to the Locker Room “Clubbies” at end of year. Cheap Cheap Cheap!

  6. I’m so sick and tired of listening to this crap from overpaid over aged under performing players. Yah you Adams, how did your hamstring heal so quickly. You are just pissed your Humpty Dumpty qb Rodger’s is no good. Maybe both of you should go into his black hole retreat with no lights. Hope the jets completely tear down the team. Stick to your Taco Bell commercials. Cry baby 😭 🌮🌮🌮🌮

  7. “No one knows what I as going through and the reasons why it had to be this way” all the way to the bank.
