Aside from the Maxx Crosby trade rumors intensifying in the last 48 hours, the biggest story around the Raiders has revolved around Alex Guerrero, the team’s ‘wellness coordinator’ who is reportedly considered Tom Brady’s “eyes and ears” in the building.
Guerrero has reportedly rubbed players and coaches the wrong way since he arrived to the organization a year ago, and according to The Athletic’s Mike Silver, Guerrero played a role in the ongoing divide between Crosby and the organization.
“Like many players and coaches, Crosby was frustrated by the presence of Alex Guerrero, a staunch Brady ally whose official title is wellness coordinator,” Silver wrote in his latest column at The Athletic.
“Guerrero, who regularly attends practices and meetings, purports to possess significant organizational power, informing players of impending transactions and even indicating to staff members who don’t follow his instructions that their jobs may be at risk,” Silver continued. “Guerrero is perceived to have a direct pipeline to Brady, who lives in Florida and serves as Fox’s lead NFL analyst, limiting his in-person presence.”
Silver, who is hardly beloved by Raider fans, has taken some heat for his report, but according to Raider Nation Radio host Q Myers, there might be some truth to what Silver reported on the situation.
“Guerrero is Tom Brady’s right-hand man. Guerrero has been Tom Brady’s right-hand man since he was back in New England, since Bill Belichick basically said he’s not allowed to practice. He’s not allowed in the building,” Myers said on Thursday on the Locked on Raiders Squad Show podcast.
“It’s so funny because last year at training camp, talking to players after practice and talking about the heat and how do you stay hydrated, and many of them told me… ‘Alex Guerrero and his team have our bodies conditioned correctly. We’re in a good place.’ They had glowing things to say about him.”
“With that being said, I’ve also been told that he’s got a lot of influence. I’ve had someone that’s a pretty predominant person that was in the Raiders organization, in the building, say he’s almost like the assistant GM.”
It’s an interesting time to follow the Raiders because despite all the optimism around a new quarterback and head coach in 2026, there are clearly matters in the locker room that need to be addressed before the start of the season.
Brady is doing his best to run an NFL franchise from the other side of the country, but his approach is one that doesn’t have precedent in the NFL.
Not a lot went well for Brady in 2025 as it related to his role with the Raiders, and ironically, the only good from the 2025 season came as reward for having the worst record in the league.
For what it’s worth, Crosby hasn’t addressed the aforementioned report from Silver… or for that matter, anything else that has been reported about him in the last few weeks.
As a result, no one seems to know what to think about his mindset going into the new league year.
Most believe Crosby would like to be traded but doesn’t want to officially request a trade.
“As the Raiders continue to work their way through an unworkable relationship with defensive end Maxx Crosby, it remains to be seen whether they’ll give him the trade he wants,” NBC’s Mike Florio wrote at Pro Football Talk on Wednesday.
“There’s no doubt he wants one,” Florio continued. “Crosby is taking the high road, but the evidence continues to hide in plain sight. In the four weeks since Jay Glazer of Fox said that Crosby is “done” with the Raiders, there has been no retraction or contradiction. The fact that the Raiders have attached an asking price (as PFT reported last week, two first-round picks and a player) shows that they’re willing to move him.”
It has been reported that Crosby isn’t going to request a trade, but every indication is that the Raiders understand where the situation is headed.
Crosby doesn’t want to be the “bad guy” and his agent, who gets paid a lot of money to handle situations like these, seems to be working hard behind the scenes to put him on a contending team in 2026.

Brady is the problem.
Someone here intimated that last year. And while Brady might not intentionally be that he is that.
He is a cancer.
So much for trust. Why do you need dumb and dumber to spy on the team? That guerrero guy is Brady’s right hand and left hand man which ever hand he jacks him off with is not needed. This kinda crap is not needed tom Brady is not needed.. why is he turning the raiders into a soapopera.. everyone says it’s a business well keep the main office and. That dome in Vegas it will pay for itself and play the home games in Oakland since Davis likes to throw money around… open field stadium and raider fans in the stands that’s home field advantage. Give brady his money so he and his right or left hand man can go to tampa or new england. Probably sucks him off to..
Alex Guerrero has been a problem in New England and now hes a problem here…Mark needs to man up and make a decision to get rid of him…Al would never put up with players having someone messing with them…Al would never let maxx walk knowing Alex Guerrero was the problem…Alex would have been banned immediately ..
