Raiders Mystery Employee Says the Opportunity is Now to Get “Premium Compensation” for Maxx Crosby

Trade rumors have picked up around Maxx Crosby in recent days and on Thursday they seemed to reach a point of no return.

It’s a matter of “when” and not “if” it’s going to happen and that sentiment was essentially confirmed by ‘AFL Godfather’ on X.

On the surface, ‘AFL Godfather’ looks like a relatively generic account on X, run by someone who enjoys tweeting about the Raiders. Historically, it’s an account that has been loyal to its namesake and the history of the organization.

But according to Raider Nation Radio host Q Myers, it’s an account connected to someone close to the organization, believed to be in the building.

“He’s somebody that’s in the building,” Myers said of the ‘AFL Godfather’ account on his Raider Nation Radio show in January. “I know that he knows what’s going on inside the building.”

With Q’s statements in mind, it shouldn’t be overlooked that the ‘AFL Godfather’ made the case for trading Crosby on Thursday afternoon – which is a line no one in the building would cross unless there was a strong chance it is going to happen.

But I believe the opportunity presents premium compensation at this particular moment. The needs of the many outweigh the few or the one. pic.twitter.com/2dAF8VFg4F / X”

There have been several teams linked to a potential trade for Crosby, but in the last 24 hours it has become increasingly clear that the Raiders are going to be able to get two-first round picks for him if they chose to go that route.

A first-round pick and a couple of players might be an option, but it is believed the Raiders would like to have two first-round picks involved.

Several teams are still in the mix for Crosby, but according to Trey Wingo, the Cowboys are expected to move in another direction in their search for pass-rushing help.

But as always, when it comes to Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones, never rule anything out – especially when he learns who else is heavily in contention to trade for Crosby.

trey wingo on X (formerly Twitter): “Things are moving fast re Maxx Crosby. Last night Dallas thought they were close to a deal but since then other teams have raised the ante and potentially are offering the Raiders 2 1st round picks Expected Dallas to now shift their focus to Trey Hendrickson / X”

  1. It’ll be a sad day for Raider Nation regardless of what they get in Return.

  2. Agreed. No doubt Maxx is a Raider legend and if he gets the opportunity to be in the post season, maybe a HoF candidate. I would wish that to be all in the S&B. It doesn’t seem likely. Unfortunately, this organization making use of big draft picks windfall is not great, but in truth there have been few teams in NFL history change their fortune in one draft season. It takes multiple drafts for most teams to build because you do miss on players, injuries alter careers, or players no longer fit the cap structure, etc. I can remember a decent draft class here and there, but when was the last time we put a couple together? Anyone from last year’s class look like a lock to keep around? Maybe Jeanty? Kind of scary.
