CBS Insider Cites “Multiple League Executives” on Davante Adams’ Trade Value

The Raiders are reportedly looking to get a second-round pick for Davante Adams, but for now, the consensus seems to be that they will have to settle for less.

According to CBS Sports insider Johnathan Jones, most believe the Raiders will ultimately have to settle for a third-round pick in exchange for Adams…

The Las Vegas Raiders will trade Davante Adams well before the Nov. 5 trade deadline, and a deal may even get struck as early as next week but in the meantime, sources tell CBS Sports the Raiders are discussing internally how much of Adams’s remaining $13.5 million salary they’d be willing to pay down in order to facilitate a trade of the three-time All-Pro wide receiver.

The Raiders and general manager Tom Telesco are ‘stuck’ on second-round compensation, sources say, and many around the league believe there’s pressure from owner Mark Davis to get the deal done at that price. Multiple league executives have told CBS Sports they believe the trade will ultimately get done with a third-round pick and some change.”

The other popular belief right now is that Adams would prefer to be traded to the New York Jets, and discussions around that trade aren’t going to pick up until the Jets return from London.

Aaron Rodgers has been struggling to build a connection with third-year wide receiver Garrett Wilson, and there might be some urgency for the 2-2 Jets if they fall to the undefeated Vikings on Sunday in London. If that happens, it’s possible the Jets will bring a better offer for Adams to speed up the process.

The last thing the Jets need is a disgruntled Aaron Rodgers heading into the trade deadline, which is still a month away.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported this week that Adams would like to get out of Las Vegas “ASAP” and the Raiders probably aren’t interested in rumors around their star wide receiver dominating the headlines for another week.

In theory, the Jets, Raiders and Davante Adams all have motivation to get a trade accomplished quickly, so the process shouldn’t drag out a lot longer.

  1. The Raiders should get a 2nd round or even 1st round pick for this sissy, punk Randy Moss 2.0 who obviously is wearing a skirt and can’t be a team player and cares nothing about his teammates and only his selfish self..if they don’t get what this trash that signed a contract to do exactly what is expected when you sign on the dotted line bench his *** inactive for the rest of the season and release the little sissy and have a nice tax write-off!!! Raider Nation!!!!

  2. Here is an idea … get devante a qb that can get him the d—- ball consistently instead of trading him to one for basically nothing now it seems. Think of this …Randy Moss traded for a 4th rounder and now Devante for a 3rd … only in RaaDuh land. Heck Rodgers wanted to come here and play with Devante last year but McDonalds wanted Jimmy G instead. Flip the script Telesco and do what it takes to bring Rodgers here… or Stafford or even Russ… DC Again anyone ?! Some former winner is better than what the RaaDuhs got under center now . But don’t trade another all time great receiver for peanuts !!!

    1. Dude, we’re two and two. and the current quarterback has a lot to do with that. Defense hasn’t been what it was last year and with Crosby missing games They’ve had to lean on this offense big time. Even without DA still managed to win games. I think Minshew can get it done. I wasn’t a supporter of his at all, but I see how hard he works and how hard he wants to win. Mounting a come back last week down 10 points Against Deshaun Watson coming out victorious he deserves his chance.

  3. The Jets 2nd and 5th round picks should get the deal done. This is just a prime example of today’s primadonna WR. Randy Moss, Antonio Brown, Beckham Jr, TO, etc…

  4. Trade him for a 3rd round and Adrian Martinez with the jets.
Adrian Martinez is a very good QB.
