ESPN’s Schefter Lists Trade Offers Previously Rejected for Davante Adams by the Raiders

The Raiders are expected to trade Davante Adams prior to the NFL’s November 5 trade deadline, but there is still a lot of uncertainty around the situation.

Last week, the idea was floated that the Raiders might keep Adams through the remainder of the season, in part because of his relationship with Aidan O’Connell, who is now the starting quarterback in Las Vegas.

The other detail to the story is that the Raiders apparently aren’t being offered a lot for Adams.

Based on reports last week, it sounds like the Raiders haven’t been offered more than a fourth-round pick for Adams, and that’s a big reason why the All-Pro wide receiver hasn’t found a new home.

If the Raiders missed their opportunity to get significant trade value for Adams, it sounds like they left a couple of premium picks on the table by not parting ways with Adams sooner.

“The Raiders have been very stubborn,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on Monday on the Pat McAfee Show. “The problem here is they have in their mind, I think, what has come up in the past. A year ago, at the trade deadline, the Jets were willing to offer two second-round draft picks for Davante Adams and [the Raiders] didn’t do the deal.”

“And then in the offseason this summer, there were teams out there that were willing to give up at least a second-round draft pick, and they didn’t do that,” Schefter continued. “Now we’re into the season and now we’re closer to him essentially being a free agent because there’s no more guaranteed money on his contract, and teams aren’t willing to give up what they were before. The Raiders know what was offered before and they don’t want to move off that.”

Pat McAfee on X (formerly Twitter): “”The Raiders have been adamant that they want a two for Davante Adams and they don’t wanna pay down any of his salary..There hasn’t been a team out there that’s willing to do that” ~ @AdamSchefter #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/HQTEuZ4V32 / X”

If the Raiders had any realistic chances of making the playoffs, keeping Adams might make sense, but that ship seems to have sailed.

Most believe the Jets are still the favorite to get Adams, but Monday will have a big impact on their season outlook.

If Aaron Rodgers and company lose to the Bills on Monday night (and fall to 2-4 on the season), it probably wouldn’t make a lot of sense for the Jets to spend a premium pick on a one-year wide receiver rental.

In that case, maybe the prediction by former Raiders running back Marcel Reece will eventually play out

  1. Trade the owner for what ever you can get aybe the team starts winning he’s into the girls basketball team more anyways nicer looking players 😉

  2. To be honest I might offer two 6th round picks but that would be the best I could do. The raiders screwed this up all by themselves getting greedy. If not just wait until he becomes a free agent.

  3. Once again… from Ownership down these Horrific “Football” men have completely and positively blown the Davante Adams situation… You would have thought that the Owner might have learned Something, heck ANYTHING from the Derek Carr fiasco less than 2 years ago. Timing is everything for trades in this league and once again the Management has F#c&ed themselves out of an opportunity. Because of their Continued Ignorance and inability to see the whole picture the Raiders will lose another talented player and receive in compensation Exactly what they received for Carr… NADA!!! Great Job Boys
