At his well-documented request, the Raiders traded Davante Adams, and now with the season seemingly in the tank, the Raiders might not be done making deals ahead of the November 5 trade deadline.
Maxx Crosby has been at the center of trade rumors since Adams was shipped out, but the consensus seems to be the Raiders won’t be seeking out any deals involving their star pass rusher.
Aside from Crosby, Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter says there is only one other player on the roster the Raiders won’t be interested in trading.
“[Maxx Crosby] and Brock Bowers. That’s it. Those are the two guys that will not [be traded]. Those are the two guys that the Raiders at this point won’t move on from,” Hondo said on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast.
“Now, you say that, but remember, I’m from the north country, and people from the north country who grew up watching hockey understand if Wayne Gretzky can get traded from a Canadian team to Los Angeles, you never say ‘no’ to any trade,” Hondo continued. “But no, I think those two are lock-ins, that they’re not going to go anywhere. But somebody does something stupid, you never know, do you?”
It’s worth noting that most hypothetical trade proposals for Crosby have involved a first-round pick and a mid-round pick.
That’s not a reasonable return for a player like Crosby considering he’s an All Pro in the prime of his career and, more-so than ever, the undisputed heart of the locker room.
As for Bowers, it would be malpractice to trade one of the league’s top tight ends in the first six months of his NFL career.
Bowers is only scratching the surface of his potential and is already in the discussion to be an All Pro at the end of the season.
The player Bowers might eventually displace as the top tight end in the NFL will be on the field on Sunday when the Raiders host the Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium.

Hondo, just shut up! You can get the truth out to the public about as good as my cat. You don’t do anything until the team tells something. They say jump and you say how high. You want to report something tell us what in the hell Gutless Getsy is seeing to say there have been improvements. Tell us what in the hell TT/AP were thinking going into this season with a “gardner” at QB?
