As the losses mount under interim head coach Rich Bisaccia, the Raiders seem to be getting closer to another organizational overhaul.
If they decide to look outside of the building for a new head coach, the Raiders’ job is expected to be the most sought-after coaching job in the NFL.
“I’ve talked to multiple people around the league who believe this might just be the best job available,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported on Wednesday. “Brand-new facilities, exciting new home in Las Vegas, sneaky-good roster, a franchise quarterback in Derek Carr and an ownership committed to winning. After all, owner Mark Davis gave Gruden a 10-year deal and plenty of patience on the job before derogatory emails ended his tenure abruptly.”
Despite losing a coach and two first-round picks to terrible decisions during the season, the Raiders still have a playoff-caliber roster. Jon Gruden can be replaced, Damon Arnette has already been replaced, and there is an elite wide receiver in the league who would be more than happy to join Derek Carr next season.
It has already been reported that potential coaching candidates have reached out to Raiders’ owner Mark Davis, but he is said to have “rebuffed inquiries” so far. Davis apparently wants to wait until after the season to talk to potential candidates, but it is widely known that he has quietly been doing his homework since Gruden’s resignation.
One name to watch might be University of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, who Davis tried to bring to the Raiders in back in 2014.

I would be very surprised that this is considered a great job opportunity. There is no foundation in place that a potential candidate allowing for proper assessing.
Lets not forget the fact that we have worst owner in history, an owner that has shown he has no loyalty, honor,an avid liar, n possesses no football knowledge whatsoever. This owner just signed Del Rio to contract n appeared to be content with McKenzie as GM when suddenly his man crush on Gruden caused him to toss aside then-recently extended Del Rio n throwing McKenzie under the boss very quick.
There are also several times Davis lied to players, fans, n media protecting his little man-crush lover Gruden. Davis would have loved for Gruden to have remained n probably gave him a job somewhere else or made him ownership of Raiders or the little womens bball team he bought.

Most coveted coaching job in the sport? Hardly. We have an owner who has flip flopped on coaches and GMs before. With that being said, yes we need a head coach. We need someone who is a professional and can adapt strategies to the opposition mid game, not run the same 4 plays over and over and over expecting a different outcome.

He watched his dad destroy a team because of pride. Trading Gruden destroyed the organization essentially in two years. After the Gruden trade Davis Sr. went mental at some point. He screwed the fans over year after year with piss, poor drafting.
Gruden is definitely overrated because his personnel decisions are below average (see Mack trade) and additional 1st/ second round draft errors, and he is also too conservative with a lead. This stated, he is arguably the best coach this team has had since Flores.
The same goes for Carr. Is he flawed, yes. Does he appear timid at times, yes. Is he the best QB we have had since Gannon, yes.

I’ve been a Raider fan since I was in fifth grade and only because of a Raider sweatshirt I had received for Christmas that year in 1970. So, as I became a fan for a team that I had no Idea where or when they actually they played at. Finding out that they were from Oakland and not Oklahoma as I thought. Since that day I tried to watch every game via TV or Live in Oakland or L.A. (no Vegas yet) I’ve spent season after season since 1970 enjoying every game, some more than others of course, and my loyalty for the Raiders just gets stronger no matter who is the Head coach or what city they represent. Some of you here were in diapers or not born yet when the Raiders were at their best, that’s probably why your patience have taken a toll on you in ever seen this team have a championship season .

Watching so many players improve the way they have throughout the year, there is no reason to not be optimistic about the future. The raiders are going in the right direction. Otherwise roger g.would not feel like he needs to cheat against them still. They will be serious sb contenders again soon.
