Is it too soon for Raider fans to start talking about the draft?
Maybe, but if you want to talk about something exciting around the Raiders, the draft is one of the only options still on the table.
Between now and the end of April, the Raiders are going to be linked to just about every quarterback in the draft. But unlike other years, this is most likely going to be the year the Raiders take a big swing in the draft at a quarterback.
There will be plenty of time to sort through rookie quarterbacks after the season, but Raiders flagship radio host JT the Brick made an interesting comment this week on the college quarterback he is already sold on.
“I’m not doing quarterback talk for April and I’m not starting in October. Plus, there’s no one out there that anybody knows who they want. The only guy that I would sell my soul to get right now is Arch Manning,” JT said on Monday on his Raider Nation Radio show.
“The little Archie Manning kid, the Manning guy with his DNA, that’s the only guy I’d give up three first round picks for,” JT continued. Cam Ward [and] the other guys I like, they’re going to be good. You don’t know who they’re going to be. You don’t know if one’s going to be Jamarcus Russell. You don’t know if the next guy is going to be Deshaun Watson. You have no idea.”
Unfortunately for the Raiders, Manning won’t be draft eligible until 2026, and that means he won’t be in the discussion for this year’s draft.
The bigger message in JT’s statement, though, is one that will be debated from now until the draft.
Is there a quarterback in the upcoming draft that stands out as a generational talent or at least possesses an elite skill set?
Like Manning, Shedeur Sanders has NFL pedigree, but is he a lock to be better NFL quarterback than the aforementioned Ward, Jalen Milroe, Quinn Ewers, or even Carson Beck?
That’s a determination that GM Tom Telesco and everyone else in the Raiders building, including Tom Brady, now have six months to figure out.

Sanders should be an absolute red flag name not even in the board.
Quit the hating, just because you don’t like his dad. Get off the negative media bandwagon. Think for yourself.
And I think Chase Garber has a better chance at being productive than Ridder.
It’s really frustrating when guys like Sam Webb, Gainer and Burney have proven themselves on the field and scrubs get put out there ahead of them.
Telesco and Getsky at the very least gotta go.
Finally some one you see the issue, Telescope didn’t make an attempt to get a starting QB. The OC should have never been Getzki. Telesco set the Raiders for failure. The media is no help trying sway the team Draft Arch M. Kid is not ready, no against.a real D

I don’t know much about Arch but I do know that the Raiders shouldn’t get into the “franchise QB” thing. the Raiders had a chance to get a good/ star quarterback in the draft but refused. they knew they had D. Adams and a young maybe top 5 TE unit but they refused to keep D. Carr or trade for a good QB.
They need a lot more than a rookie QB if they’re going to make a playoff run. Another DE/ edge or a CB might help. a lot of winning teams passed on QBs’ and went with a good/ star veteran in a trade or free agency. the Raiders need to get an OL before they get a “franchise QB”

Also, Dion Sanders son. Why are you going to draft a QB when the dad is going to be all up in your business and causing drama depending on how his son is playing.
Come on!!! Dion is a deva and a know it all. He was a great athlete and player but can you imagine if his son is playing poorly. Daddy Dion is going to blame the coaches, the team and cause total havoc.

I want to go back to training camp for just a minute.How good did these quarterbacks play against our defense during training camp. It must have been pretty decent but it has not translated to a real game . So is it the coaches fault they didn’t try to do something then. Or did they think in their mind these guys were the answer.What about the GM?
Our defense needs help in the back field. Also our OL has to get some help. A great QB would help but is only part oftge problem.
However the Brock Bowers pick was a homerun forsure.

It’s gotta be cam ward watch his film. Hrs so calm he don’t give up to scramble he stays in there calm and sidearm it so good and he can run if needed and he’s not easy to take down and he’s gotva cannon when needed too.
